PLAN YOUR STAY
Oban is a great base to explore the west coast of Scotland and islands of the Inner Hebrides, with stunning scenery, boat trips, walks, wildlife-watching, castles, gardens and numerous outdoor activities all within easy reach.
Oban is also known as the Seafood Capital of Scotland and has a number of award-winning restaurants as well as excellent fish and chip shops and pierside seafood stalls.
We hope you will want to sample the local produce on offer, with everything from fresh seafood and smoked salmon to artisan cheeses available at locally-owned shops. Oban is also well-served with supermarkets for everyday shopping.
To help you plan your stay, we have compiled another website, Oban the Best, which lists our recommendations for the best things on offer in this area.
Property address: The Turret, Apartment F, Kilbowie House, Gallanach Road, Oban PA34 4PE
Starting in Oban, proceed through the town, following the signs for the Cal Mac ferry (a black ferry on a white background) and signs to Gallanach. Continue driving past the ferry terminal, along Gallanach Road (this becomes single track) for approximately one mile. Turn right into Dungallan Terrace and the drive to Kilbowie House is immediately on the left, just before Kilbowie Outward Bound Centre.

ABOUT US…
The Turret is owned by Suzanne and Mark McPhillips. We are former architects and have lived in Edinburgh, London, Hong Kong and Malta, before settling in Oban, drawn by the lure of the sea and the stunning scenery, not to mention the abundance of fabulous fresh seafood! After our career in architecture, we spent 14 years running a boutique bed and breakfast (first Dun na mara and then Greystones), before opening The Turret in 2018.
We look forward to welcoming you to this beautiful part of the world!
